How much does a die-cutter cost? What does die-cutting consist of?
Before self-adhesive labels are wound round the rolls (i.e., core rolls), they must be cut out to the required format.
How do we go about doing this? The most popular way involves the use of a mechanical cutter of labels with special cutters.
Let's start from the beginning. How is die-cutting done?
Once the labels have been printed and protected with a laminate or varnish, they are cut to the required format. Up to that moment, there is a roll of self-adhesive material with the graphic design printed on it. The die-cutting process or label cutting process consists of cutting the labels to the desired shape.
What exactly is a die-cutter?
Our cutters are ordered from Rotometrics, a company with a global reputation, where the raw sheet metal goes through successive processes like etching, and CNC machining to polish the blades. The final product is a ready-to-use cutter, thanks to which we can cut out labels of any shape and size.
This method also allows for perforations between labels.
Is the printing of a new label also connected with costs relating to the purchase of a new cutting blade?
Not necessarily!
We are extremely pleased to bring you good tidings ;).
At present, we have about 4,000 cutters in our resources and this number is continually growing. The most popular are, of course, rectangular, square, and round. Therefore, if we are not dealing with any sophisticated shapes, it is highly probable that we already have the very cutter you need.
If we have a highly unusual and sophisticated label or we unfortunately don’t have the right cutting blade, new blades are delivered to us within 1 business day only. This is an additional one-off net cost of approx. 600 - 800 zloty.
Want to see if you too can save several hundreds of zloty at the very start of collaboration? Call us or drop us a line, we’re here to help!
