Selection of the right technology for an order often poses a challenge? Trivial? Easy to say, but how it really is?

Some time ago, we were trusted by the Dr. Irena Eris company, manufacturer of a Spa Resort skin care cosmetics range in lines: Tahiti, Japan and Hawaii. They are designed for luxurious body care, both at home and professional spa salons.

The design of these product’s high quality packages was made with great care for details. They had a sophisticated graphic design which – if produced improperly – could make the product look ugly instead of highlighting it. That is what made using the right technology so important.
 

We mainly focused on the packages’ rich coloring and the large number of details to reproduce. It turned out to be necessary to use production technology that guaranteed adequate ruling. The idea was to make the print lines dense enough to capture the design’s smallest details in a faithful and smooth way. The printing equivalent of “pixilation” is an effect we should definitely avoid, especially in luxury projects. This is why HP Indigo technology digital print was selected.

The project was also characterized by a large variety of used packages. Soft tubes, jars and bottles were used. Only using the HP Indigo digital print technology and white polyethylene foil allowed us to acquire high quality, durable and versatile adhesive labels fitting packages this varied. White polyethylene foil is a very flexible material, perfectly adapting to different shapes and materials. The foil contains permanent acrylic glue which ensures excellent adhesion throughout the product’s lifespan, a minimum of 12 months.
 

The imprint on the labels was covered with extra foil, so-called OPP transparent laminate, with a thickness of just 12 microns, which protects against mechanical damage, fading and abrasion. Hot stamping gilding, referring to other metallized elements of the package, like caps, was the “icing on the cake”.

The reliable HP Indigo printing technology and advanced packaging label finishing techniques have made sure that the Spa Resort range – even if used extensively in cosmetic salons – will maintain impeccable, elegant appearance for a very long time.
